I don't believe the church replaced Israel. True physical Israel is the church though. The phrase, "The Called" is defined by scripture as Israel. Only true Israel. The Greek word translated church is "the called out". Modern Christianity teaches that God broke His promises by believing the frauds are God's chosen. The world is upside down, not the Kingdom of God. In the Hebrew and Greek there is unity of faith and doctrine. The words Jew and Gentile as we understand them today are not in the Hebrew or Greek.
The church is spiritual Israel according to the Bible. I just say what the Bible says and I believe the Bible. You can believe whatever you like, it is not worth arguing over.
That is good, but please provide a verse. Spiritualizing the bible destroys the message that God intended. There is never a need to spiritualize. It is most often done to makes sense of the bible in view of the world. The better way to understand God is to make the world fit the bible. When you get the correct people in the correct roles, there is no need for a spiritual Israel. Christ said that His Israel people follow Him and hear His voice. Who has done that for the last almost 2000 years?
I take the Bible for what it says. Rom. 11:25-36 tells the fate of Israel and God has blinded them until the fullness of the Gentiles---the church---and then God will work with Israel again. If you read Rom. 9-11, you will get the full picture in the difference between the church and Israel. We worship God in spirit and through faith WE are grafted into the ROOT---the root being Israel---. We are in the times of the churches in Rev. 2-3. Rev 4 starts with AFTER these things---the church era---God will again work with Israel. It seems we have a difference of opinion and you have stated what you believe as have I. Someday we will find out who is correct if either of us are!
That is great, but there are some problems with terms. Gentile is a Latin word that was placed in the scripture to hide something that did not agree with church doctrine at the time. The word in scripture means Nation. Simply Nation, not non-Jew. The context determines the who. Such as Romans 2:14-15, 9-24-25 and Ephesians 2:11 the Nations must be of the Ten Northern tribes. The context requires it. The modern day Jews are not Israel as even their own writings admit, but scripture proves. The way this is taught in most churches leaves God as a promise breaker. The Grafting is for the House of Israel as promised in Hosea and shown accomplished in Ephesians 2. The bible defines its own terms. Examples are: Adoption, glory, covenants, Law, service of God, promises, elect, called, children, firstborn, chosen, royal priesthood, holy nation, peculiar or special treasure, treasure, grapes, olives, even wild olives and sheep. Afar off and those near. Brother and neighbor. “Not a people”, food, and more, but this was my last list. If you would like to study together I have much more that would be helpful.
