How else does a state know when a car was stolen in another state and a cop runs the plates?
And, how else would your state DMV know when you got a ticket in another state?
You can't just not take care of the ticket and say you'll never go back to that particular state.
There is a LEADS system for law enforcement researching info across state lines but I don't think the voter reg system is (should) be anywhere connected.
One of the reasons I know they are connected is last year I registered a car in another state.
I am moving out of this Commie state to a free state and when I inquired about how to make sure the DMV knew the car was now registered in another state I was told the DMV in the old state would see the new registration and I wouldn't have to worry about it.
IT's totally possible that this lazy state worker lied, but I did get a registration with a zeroed out total for the vehicle that was sent out of state.
Every DMV in every state? Are they connected? Wow. If so, I did not know that.
Of course they are connected.

Interesting. Good luck with your move!
That makes sense.
Turtles wife ran Department of Transportation , this is the common connection.
But a driver was originally someone who did it for a living. Not just some random individual moving about.
