Actually, I think it's rather like Clarence and George. Prayer works. I have personal experience of it. That (my) kind of coincidences are rather like winning the lottery 3 times in a row. No reason to believe me, but I know and I don't knowingly lie and I am not inclined to believe fairy tales. I am here.
I did. Did no one pray for us before 9/11? Or Pearl Harbor or D day? Prayer is not a magic button. I could pray for money and get it, with all the negatives attached. Or I could pray for help and understanding and be given both. And I could be a fool and not understand the 40,000 foot view.
also, ALL IDEAS HAVE IDEAS. so it is both appropriate and beneficial to humble yourself before the supreme idea. call it what you will, but the name has been given.
Is that thought somehow alien to you? That the power of prayer is not a real thing?
I didn't say that

Ukrainians did.
The "Power of prayer" and the wordage/verbage is overrated and stained in term of social capital.
much better and more accurate would be the "power of belief"
That way, you don't get all religious :)
prayer is a powerful tool for managing belief.
