Lots of people I know have been to France, know French people, so It's easier to relate. I have friends who live in France, and I am changing flights in Paris next week

I have been to Russia, and know some Russians, although typically of Russians outside of Russia they can't stand Putin

But most people haven't been to Russia, and don't know any Russians. Talking to people on here, people have some really odd ideas about what Russia is really like, very different from reality
