11.5 .million vehicles per year move over it. Half the port of Baltimore is sealed off from shipping. The rerouting of 11.5 million vehicles to two alternate routes thatbare already over worked is basically shutting down Baltimore. This is a huge financial hit to the north east. Be watching for ports in houston, now Orleans, Las Angeles, along the missippi and possibly Boston to be hit with something g that will close them. This is major happening. Automation may have allowed the ship to be remotely taken over from the pilot. Planes into towers, ships into bridges. I may be wrong but don't ships transiting like this get assisted by tug boats? Anyone work maritime in that area who can answer that?
There’s still the Ft McHenry tunnel and the Harbor tunnel on the east side of Baltimore’s i 95 system. Automobile traffic in those tunnels will get even worse, but the bigger issue is getting water vessel traffic to the port operational again.
