There's enough games out in the market already for the whole world to keep themselves distracted for decades without ever really needing new games, so I say let them strike and destroy themselves. And this comes from someone who has been a near lifelong gamer with kids who are gamers.
I used to play for pure entertainment, but now I play them more as a way to glean possible narrative shifts and soft disclosure type narratives. Same with my kids. It's still entertaining, but the type of entertainment shifted for my family about 20 yrs ago.
