Cia also hijacked the hippy movement. They had their own movie studios and recording artists.
They didn't hijack it they started it in Laurel canyon. Frank Zappa and Jim Morrison both were kids of intel parents and raised in Laurel Canyon. Those 2 and some other helped them kick it off. Charlie Manson was also regular at Laurel Canyon.
