Since you brought up the SOT, are you familiar with an old video of a scientist (I believe he was Italian, not positive) who tested the blook and found only the mother's watchmacallit. Sorry, I forget the name, mitochondra? Anyway, there was nothing from the father. I have been trying to find that video again, to no avail. It seems to have been scrubbed. If you know what I mean and where to find that video, please tell me. Thanks!
no sorry haven't come across that discussion. apparently the genome isn't recoverable in case that's relevant. dalton says there is some agreement that the blood is AB +. which matches the sudarium apparently.
this guy goes into the blood a little more.

Thank you!
Mitochondria always only come from the mother's side. A cellular component , father only provides DNA no cellular components.
Yeah, that sounds right. So there wouldn't be any from the father, anyway. I vaguely remember the scientist saying there was (something like) 23 of these things and normally there would be 46 but the father's wasn't present. Which of course would make sense in this case. Thanks.
"23 & Me" ring a bell ?
"The human genome is a complete set of nucleic acid sequences for humans, encoded as DNA within the 23 chromosome pairs in cell nuclei and in a small DNA molecule found within individual mitochondria."
"Chromosomes come in pairs. Normally, each cell in the human body has 23 pairs of chromosomes (46 total chromosomes). Half come from the mother; the other half come from the father."
Blook? What the heck is a blook? I have no idea what that is or why I apparently typed it. Naturally, I was referring to the shroud.
