I’m completely solar system illiterate so how if we are spinning same direction all the time do these two paths go in different directions? I figure same directions just different degrees based on tilt of earth at the time but can someone explain

Depends on the time of year because earth wobbles. So right now the earth points more towards the southern hemisphere and will start pointing more and more to the northern hemisphere until after summer.
