As part of a settlement agreement in a lawsuit alleging unauthorized tracking by the company, Google will erase a vast collection of data encompassing the web-browsing histories of millions of users.

Don't believe a word of it. Google will do with your browsing data whatever they (or their 3-letter handlers) want.

Also, don't save anything to the "cloud". There's not a nice, fluffy cloud floating around with huge amounts of data storage available. Guess who owns the data storage system that everyone thinks is a friendly "cloud"?

Yup. You sent your information straight to those who can use it against you. Instead... invest in a free-standing hard drive. Keep your info to yourself.
