Denver closing 3 hotel shelters for immigrants this week as city addresses multi-million-dollar budget deficit
Denver officials on Monday announced the closure of three additional hotel shelters by the end of this week to help save the city $60 million from a projected $180 million deficit in the 2024 budget.
A couple of weeks ago there was a video posted here about a Denver woman at a city council meeting saying how she can barely afford to exist and that the council hadn't 'done the math' but she did. I forget what she calculated, but I think it was somewhere in the area of 500+ million in order to pay for all the things the city was offering these people, but the city budget was only 52 million. She was asking them how the heck they were going to do it. Morons. It took an old lady to do the math for them.
Yes! I saw that video too!
Is Denver suddenly running out of other people's money?
Why are we not boycotting these hotel chains.. like Comfort Inn?
How many of us were even staying at them? Gotta be a customer first to join a boycott.
Also they don't care about boycotts until the subsidies run out.
All are welcome until they come to your town.

So now they are on the streets and crime increases. Great. Don't get me wrong - I don't want them here... Just bemoaning a circumstance that went from shitty to super shitty...
Well, now where the hell are they going!?
