I was an awkward female at 12. More tomboy than feminine. I blossomed when I was 17. Started dressing up and wearing makeup.

My hubby wondered about our daughter when she was that age. She was an athlete and dressed mostly in scrubby clothes. I told him not to worry that she would come around. She blossomed at the same age I did.

Thus it’s called growing into your skin.
