Very nice post. May be hard to follow, but most won’t even try. The reward would be amazing. I feel this forum, the GAW, scroll past scriptures like this, because they don’t want to participate in caring for their enemies. They are victims to. There is only one enemy. One true enemy. The fight is against the evil one called Satan. Yea I don’t care for those hurting children and going out of their way to mess things up. But shall I start throwing stones? No. I can be better. I can do better. I do pray for God’s justice in this world. Although His justice will be done regardless.
Amen, fren.
I have reluctance loving my enemies, but I do not have reluctance to pray for them (and me and our relationship). I trust that God is Allknowing about it all. If love is to result, He will make it so.
Love the left (?)
When they hate, we respond with love. I'm not saying that its easy - I'm pretty angry still about all that has happened over these past four years. But this really resonated with me this morning to do the right thing: drop to my knees and pray. :)
Interesting timing. I was just thinking about this the other day, and then last night this short popped up in my YouTube feed. The actor who played Barabbas in The Passion of the Christ described seeing Jesus when working with Jim Caviezel during the filming of the movie and, when he looked into Jim's eyes, he saw nothing but mercy and love from Jesus. It was so moving that he converted to Catholicism. It made me reflect on how Jesus never looked at anyone with hate, even those who tormented and killed him. If Jesus ever got angry with anyone, it was those who were corrupt and prideful, but he didn't hate them. Here's the short: https://youtube.com/shorts/_t0y1u9cMs0?si=3DB0XqbwDLmkL1eO
I think we all need to reflect on this from time to time. It's easy to hate our enemies, but that's not what Jesus said to do, and it's what Satan wants. How we can accomplish loving our enemies on our worst days, I'm not sure. Sometimes all we can do is pray for the other side, and for all of us, to see the light.
That's an amazing video!
Ohhh, you stopped preachen and started stepping on toes.😄 I like it.
Stepping on my own toes - I got enough to work on, much less go around preaching! hahah....
