"Jack and Diane" is the Rocky Horror Picture show of music. For Rocky you must see it is a movie theater late at night with people acting out the movie, and the audience participation. Probably not for the audience here.
The difference for "Jack and Diane" is that this song along with Simon and Garfunkel and others make great songs to sing while on school bus trips for sports or band events.
The thing that makes these great is you tend to see/hear them in high school while hanging out with friends. It seems like those days are gone. This music will die out.
Yeah it's funny I consider myself pretty conservative but RHPS for some reason I like it. Guess that was before the tranny thing took over too much and it was just fun debauchery - and maybe you're right in the end all the hedonists/aliens/genderweird people end up badly and the two virtuous people, the blond dude and susan sarandon, end up running away together (and having an assumed 'happy ever after' )
