When you are right, you don't settle. OAN should have said we are countersuing for damages.
Pursuant to Fed. R. Civ. P. 41(a)(1)(A)(ii), Plaintiffs, Smartmatic USA Corp., Smartmatic International Holding B.V., and SGO Corporation Limited, and Defendant Herring Networks, Inc. d/b/a One America News Network, by and through undersigned counsel, hereby stipulate that this action and all claims asserted therein be dismissed with prejudice, with each party bearing its own attorneys’ fees, costs, and expenses. The parties also withdraw and terminate all pending motions submitted in this action.
This is part and parcel of using the Legal System as a weapon.
This is just not true, a ridiculous amount of civil lawsuits are settled out of court. Fox News settled with Dominion for over 3/4 of a billion dollars because Dominion claimed Fox lied about their voter fraud coverage. Everyone here knows how much voter fraud there was in 2020, but Fox settled anyway. Even when you know you're right, with the courts this rigged do you really want to risk going to trial?
Fox is controlled opposition.
They settled as a way to pay hush money to Dominion so they have a larger war chest to defend against real lawsuits that are coming against them.
