Benny is a brave man! I wouldn’t set foot in Oakland nowadays. I was there about 23 years ago when I took the wrong exit. I stopped with my eight year old son at a gas station. We were the only white people for blocks. Everyone was staring at us like we were crazy or had the biggest balls in the city. There was a black woman whose Benz was broken down there. She asked me for a ride and we gave it to her. She wound up being a prison guard. She was very nice. She didn’t have money but gave me a beautiful African dress when we got to her home. Thank God nothing bad happened to us. I wouldn’t dare do something like that now. God bless all the people that are stuck there.
