Sometimes people wear masks for other reasons. Chemotherapy patients wear them to help protect their compromised immune system. Hubby wore one on the plane the other day because he had to travel, but was still nursing the remnants of cold and he wanted to limit exposure.

Have your husband use a portable blood pressure cuff/meter and a pulse oximeter with and without a mask both just after light exertion and a bit after resting for a few minutes. Observe how much higher his blood pressure is and how low pulsox reading is with mask on vs off.

Mask usage is causing high blood pressure in reality and on meters. I wonder how many strokes mask usage has caused. I wonder how many people have been prescribed blood pressure medicine because their blood pressure in the doctors’ office while masking is raising blood pressure.
