This argument was not made, I don't believe during the SCOTUS case going on now. I seen this same thing months ago.
The answer is that this would not fall under presidential immunity. The president can be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors. If a president is impeached, found guilty, for crimes while in office, then he is not immune from those crimes when not president, is how I think it works.
