I tend to use Brave, too, as my main search engine.
If I want to buy something on-line I still think Google is the best because it gives me lots of things I can buy in my country.
If you want to double-check any anti-Russian narrative (as if!) then Yandex is very good. If it returns some RT links then, at least in the UK, I will need to use a VPN to pretend that I am not in the UK!
As for Cyrillic, I rely on a translation add-in in my browser.
