I think he got into the orbit of some very dark people when he married Katy Perry and “saw how the sausage was made” (so to speak). The marriage failed quite quickly and he walked away and went quite low key (for him). He then settled down with a wife and children and his perspective does seem to have changed a lot from his left of Centre hedonism type persona. Only he knows what’s in his heart but I wonder if what and who he encountered while with Perry shocked him so much it forced a total reboot of his beliefs
