If a dog must be put down for a good reason, at least bring it to a vet where it can pass away gently, don't be a savage and shoot it in a gravel pit.
I had a dog that had a tendency to bite people. He bit me twice. Once when I got between him and my sister-in-law. Once when I moved his bone. She knew her dog was dangerous and out of control and yet she ALLOWED it to jump from her truck. It was NOT restrained! It's her fault. I've lost respect for her. And she's proven herself to be stupid. First for killing the dog, and second for writing about it in her book.
