Mr. Alva Edison.
Have heard of a few others as well, but not coming to mind at the moment.

Edit: uh, wait, I’ve said this for years, but I’m not seeing Edison listed. He was a telegraph operator. The concept is that there are people who are in positions to intercept other ideas and take hold of them before the true originator. We know for a fact it’s been done, a lot, but the specifics still matter in the claim. I may have confused “patent clerk” with Edison for “Telegraph operator” over time. Will have to revisit this, myself.
Patrick Gunnels at Badlands doesn’t publish the angelpaste ingredients because large vendors are known to grab those materials, play around with the formulations, then run the original products off the shelf with slight variations. Software developers minify and obfuscate their source code for the same reason. But yeah, I still want to have the specific claim correct.
