I wonder if there is a clause in NATO membership that is similar to section 5 (if a NATO country is attacked other NATO countries have to help defend) or the piece that says the country has to contribute 2% of their GDP each year - that requires a NATO country to keep a certain amount of members in their military?
I don't like the wars either and I'd prefer to leave NATO, but if a country joins NATO and wants to benefit from the protection they should actually have to have enough people to form a military that can defend another NATO member if required. Otherwise they should be kicked out.
