In May 2024, Woodall-Vogg was replaced by her deputy, Paulina Gutierrez, citing “internal” issues within the commission. The decision was made by Milwaukee’s Mayor Cavalier Johnson, who denied that Woodall-Vogg was fired and stated that she had been offered a different position that she did not plan to take “as it stands right now.”

Woodall-Vogg has been recognized for her work in election administration and has received awards for her commitment to promoting voting rights and election integrity. She has also been featured in various media outlets and has spoken publicly about her experiences and perspectives on election administration
