Hi friends, as titled I'm looking for any books, articles, essays; any resources that help explain and trace the rise of the bureaucratic state.
Specifically what are some of the most notable Supreme Court decisions that contributed to the government getting so bloated & out of control, which presidents expanded the federal government so badly and most specifically;
how has the Constitution becomes so grossly perverted?
How have judges taken the Constitution & interpreted it to mean that the government - at any & all levels - can dictate & regulate literally EVERYTHING in the world; rainwater, technology, garbage, communications, firearms, etc. There is literally nothing under the sun that I'm aware of that the government doesn't regulate / control / dictate, at some level.
I hope that makes sense.
Please let me know. Or just discuss here too. :-)
Not sure, but one of the most extreme cases was about 20 years ago shortly after California legalized marijuana for medical use and the feds were still trying to enforce it: the case was a woman who grew marijuana on her own property for her own use and did not sell it to anyone, moreover she wss legally blind and the marijuana had documented medical use to prevent the advance of cataracts and further eyesight loss. Anyway, the feds used the interstate commerce clause to say that because marijuana was fungible (i.e., convertible to cash) she was engaging in interstate commerce by virtue of it being possibly convertible to cash that could be used in another state. ... And the feds won, she was arrested (probably let go with a promise not to re-"offend") and the plants seized. At any rate, I think reading up on this case (which was chosen by the defendants as being a perfect test case) would be a good place to start. And of course reading up on the interstate commerce clause, which is ostensibly the constitutional authority behind much of the federal overreach.
You might also read the Ron Paul website; I wouldn't be surprised if his site contains links to exactly the books you want, if he hasn't written them himself.
