This actually makes it seem like the argument would have helped Trump.
But I also don't think this guy influenced the ruling in any way. For one he says he spoke to him on the same day Engoron issued his ruling.
It was a 92 page ruling. It obviously was written before this conversation.
But one thing that Engoron changed in this ruling was he said cancellation of Trump's NY business licenses were no longer necessary as the Trump Organization now has a court ordered monitor and a director of compliance looking over it who could detect any issues.
That seems to be the exact thing this guy was talking about.
Bailey said he "explained to him" that a fraud statute at issue in the case was not intended to be used to shut down a major company, especially in a case without clear victims. He said such a ruling would hurt New York's economy. Engoron had rejected a similar argument raised by the Trump team in court.
It would be interesting to see if this section changed that day.
I don't think this would change anything about this case.
In stories like this, there is always something deeper behind the optics. Sometimes the exact opposite of what is being said.
Its quite possible that the DS is going after the Judge for potentially not doing their bidding (in this case) and frame it as if its for Trump's benefit.
Could also be indicative of the power struggle for this Judge's strings from multiple controllers.
There is NO story here. He contacted the judge and the judge disregarded his advice. This attorney wants his 15 minutes of fame. He got it. It's about NOTHING.
Yup fren you are right, a few comments on YT suggesting similiar. Would be nice though :)
I hope this is true, but the article includes no source.
