We knew right from the trials prior to the Emergency Use Authorization there were deaths in the vaccine group. There were also deaths in the control group. There were more deaths in the vaccine group, which should have been a huge red flag.

And that was with only ~45k participants, so it should be pretty obvious once 100x that gets vaccinated we'd have much bigger numbers. However, we're missing the other important number; how many vaccinations it took to get 1223 deaths.
