The American family isn't what it used to be, babies are shipped off to daycare & school, aging parents are shipped of to nursing homes. Both have a high chance of being abused, but the people sending their family members away were born into this cult and see no way out, and don't have the skills they need anyway - they don't even see they are slaves.
