So Ireland is supposed to hand over its sovereignty just over 100 years after the fought yet another revolution to win it's independence from british rule, and a bloody civil war due to the scrappy deal that was signed to end that revolution? I think not. I hope the Irish prevail here as well.
The brazen disregard for the will of the people is simply amazing. there is a difference between the moment the people come into gear and what these people do. The boomerang, the back lash, the back fire .... will increase exponentially with every brazen step they do.
When I think of the last time this happened in The Netherlands, 1795, and this happened also in a time where the same things as today happened, my ancestors send off the power structure gracefully on a fishing boat in the middle of winter.
It always cheers me up, to visualize the pleni potentiaries wading through the cold surf in full dress code, clambering up onto a fishing boat, probably an open botter, arriving oversees smelling of fish. The only disadvantage of winter is, no swarms of flies ....
The humiliation was such, it still gives them the shivers .... Hence the leveraging of all powers of .gov to prevent any dissent.
A good thing is that slowly people are awakening to the fact that they are sovereign, and the management structure is tasked with preserving that. Well, over the last 50 years, they made a mess of it. And the Covid-scamdeic brought that in stark relief.
