It's not because he's Joe Biden, it's because he's a democrat. The democrat media will protect one of their own no matter what. If something damning does happen to get out about a democrat politician, the tribal democrat voters will not care and vote for them anyway. They treat politics like a team sport, and will rabidly support their "team" no matter the losing streak. They will not demand better of their team, they will shrug their shoulders and say "maybe next year".
