Tetanus can be on metal, but it lives in the soil or on potentially nything.. The cut from metal just let's it in.

Pretty sure I am telling that right. Like a spore.

When castrating calves, they can get tetanus whether they're cut or banded. Not sure how to explain that though. Something to do with an anaerobic environment possibly.

It's kind of over my pay grade to get technical.

You can get tetanus toxoid for livestock. Wonder if it'd work for humans?
