They do it now in the US. Took my son to check on infection in a cut (fell outside). They wanted to give him the Tetanus (they call it that) "in case he fell on something with metal." We said no. Then I saw the chart which said DTaP which is 3 in 1! They've been doing this for years and years.
We can't even get single doses of the components of the DTaP in the US. The CDC claims it is to keep costs low for consumers. I think it is because it would be too easy to isolate which vaccine caused you injury if you were taking them one at a time.
The DTaP shot is a joke. This shot is on the childhood schedule 6 times by the time the child enters 7th grade. The tetanus component supposedly lasts at least 10 years, but our kids get several extra doses of it because the pertussis component is complete garbage. Is it a good idea for our kids to take several extra doses of vaccines? Who knows? The CDC will never study it. They never ask a question they may not like the answer to.
Why do we give the Tetanus shot to kids at all? they give a Tetanus shot whenever a person has an injury so why don't we just wait until someone is injured to give the Tetanus shot?
Tetanus is an old disease from when horses would cut themselves on metal and then you cut yourself on that same metal afterwards- my last tetanus shot was 2018 - and knowing what I know now, that was my last vaccine for the rest of my life.
Yeah, I still thought they were safe when I let them give me my last one when I came back from deployment in 2007. After all the other crap they injected me with in the Army. I would never have joined had I known how much junk they were gonna inject in me.
I was extremely sick throughout basic. My eyes turned bright red. The final week I was the sickest. I didn’t go to medical because “pussies”.
Tetanus can be on metal, but it lives in the soil or on potentially nything.. The cut from metal just let's it in.
Pretty sure I am telling that right. Like a spore.
When castrating calves, they can get tetanus whether they're cut or banded. Not sure how to explain that though. Something to do with an anaerobic environment possibly.
It's kind of over my pay grade to get technical.
You can get tetanus toxoid for livestock. Wonder if it'd work for humans?
Studies have actually shown for a while now that if vaccinated as a child, boosters end up being completely unnecessary and remains effective essentially indefinitely.
Two decades ago it was ten years, then it was "longer", now it's "maybe never".
But naturally at this point who can trust anything, who knows if tetanus wasn't already overblown to begin with.
The tetanus shot was developed as a sterilization tool.
