You're the one pushing the welfare state idea of everyone else, all of society, taking care of the irresponsible women who have babies outside of wedlock and for some unknown reason are not able to support themselves or their children. It's a hard lesson to learn but until we stop with the welfare state mentality or as you want to refer to it "our sense of humanity and hold our fellow humans in compassion and understanding" nothing will change.

It's time to own up to the fact that people like you encourage the irresponsible to continue to refuse to take responsibility for their actions, or live with the consequences and you want to force everyone else to be responsible and take care of society's problem children. No amount of compassion and understanding is going to change their behavior.
