Putin stated that the Kharkov operation is not to 'take Kharkov the city' but to establish a sanitary zone. The Russians want to stop the shelling of Russian towns, so a 'sanitary' DMZ zone will prevent that. No equipment will be allowed in there - neither will armed groups. So, I believe the whole zone will be under heavy surveillance.
How wide this zone ultimately becomes is up to the West - i.e. the aim is to outmatch the range of the missiles that are lobbed over the border by trigger-happy 'Ukrainians' (prolly sheep-dipped). As Scott Ritter pointed out recently, the purpose may well be not to take the city of Kharkov as Putin states, but if the Zone gets big enough, it will swallow the city anyway.
Putin is doing what any Military leader would do to protect the troops. Just as we did at Khe Sanh in 68.
Some people think that the latest ground offensive by Russian Federation forces in the Northeastern Ukrainian Kharkov Oblast is nothing but a distraction.
It would be designed to drag defenders away from the vital Donetsk theater of operations, where Moscow has made steady, meaningful gains ever since the conquest of the key city of Avdeevka.
The main Russian objective in this war, it may be reminded, is the conquest of the Donbas regions, Luhansk – almost entirely conquered – and Donetsk, where the main fighting now is raging around Chasov Yar and other directions.
But other well-informed people, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, think that the Kharkov offensive is for real, and may develop in successive deadly waves of attack.
I dont think Putin leaves this war without Odessa, blocking the Ukraine from the Black Sea. So when we see a move on Odessa we may see the beginning of the end game.
Odessa has three level of cities underground going back to WW2. They used this to avoid the enemy in the past.
Lugansk entirely broke off 10 years ago, including the northern part of the Lugansk region. More areas to the south were regained in bloody battles in 2022, when towns were 80% destroyed. They are still hardly liveble not only due to the shelling but because of the severe destruction and remaining mines
Thank you for sharing this. Hopefully this ends soon as to many people are dying to protect the DS and their Globalist Masters. We will keep them in our prayers.
Hopefully soon as Zelensky is loosing his presidential status next week
I have heard chatter the You Know the Agency is dropping him. There is power in prayer.
