In 2001 I installed Linux on a partition on my wife's (then gf) laptop just because she was excited about it as I was. Even though she never actually used it. While she was doing her thesis she ran out of disk space and noticed that the Linux partition was using up a lot of space. Tried to delete it, lost all her data and if she wasn't more forgiving we might never had gotten married! Good times!
