Things like this make me wonder how much of history is manipulated. Who knows, maybe Caligula wasn't such a bad guy? Maybe his enemies made up lies about him?
Almost everything we have been told in history is a lie or half truth.
As a rule of thumb, if history says that a particular person was "crazy" or "unstable" to explain their actions, I assume there is a deeper truth that is waiting to be discovered. I was very pleasantly surprised when I applied this logic to Stalin.

Great questions for a more settled time. The WORLD currently has it's own it's own issues to TRY AND SURVIVE.
