They were swaying from the impact of the plane just like they were designed to do to compensate for the high winds at that altitude.

Right. The impact of the planes was a massive, massive force.

But that like 45 minutes before the collapse. The swaying would be over.

Btw as I type this, I'm on bus right next to world trade plaza.

What force other than gravity would affect how they fell.

I had heard some folks who thought they would go over sideways like a tree with a sold trunk, but I think that has issues too

I agree with you on that point... Btw, you also have to take into consideration the resonance created by the "impact..." It would have rung the central supports like tuning forks...
