It's actually southwestern bell (SBC). Bell Atlantic turned into Verizon for the most part. Bellsouth was the last of the baby bells to be absorbed, besides BA of course

We are both wrong. The AT&T brand was bought in 2005 by SBC which subsequently merged with BellSouth.
Nobody mentioned Verizon or its predicate parts.
