42 I am so sad to see the album Cover of Steely Dan’s “Countdown to Ecstasy” . As a young teenager living in the Midwest during the 70’s, I didn’t understand the symbolism. And never bought albums, just listened in the radio. I loved their style - cause I liked the jazz influence. I cannot think of a worse successful band than Steely Dan. They made one good song and the rest sounded like off-key horsecrap. Whenever one of their pieces comes on the radio, I can’t hit the mute button fast enough.
Well your experience was worse than mine. But perhaps you are older and had better taste in music than I did then :-)
