Yes indeed but it is not a popular thing to say. Inflation is a good example because what drives it is psychological. The urgency to spend money today because tomorrow it may cost more or need something now versus later.

But if inflation climbs very rapidly then people feel the pain and the fear of what something will cost tomorrow is overshadowed by the paint in the wallet today.

The fear of the unknown in the future is eventually surpassed by the pain of today.
