My 93-yr-old mother, still alive, STILL rabidly supports the Democratic party! Far too many of the people who grew up with the old Democratic party can't see how much it has changed; it's the frog in the kettle phenomena.

I have a brother that is one of those frothing at the mouth anti-Trump people. It's pretty scary to think of how many millions of people there are that are like him!

Something I failed to mention about my brother and niece. He was involved in a bad industrial accident several years ago that left him brain damaged. Naturally, since he cannot engage in critical thinking and abstract ideas like the Laffer Curve or Economics 101, he is forever stuck in the 1980s and is a Democrat.

My niece grew up in a quite dysfunctional home with a father (my sister's husband) who was into every 1960s-70s New Age thing that came down the pike... open marriage, recreational drugs, nudism, bohemian lifestyle... no wonder she turned out weird.
