The half-inch legs that are also 4 inches is the first clue that this is fake news.
If you line up all 8 1/2 inch legs after you squash it, it will be 4 inches. That's how fake news works.
Someone on the X thread said they have been in Georgia. I'm not clear tho if it's 1/2 " or 4" legs.
I ve seen some large ones. 4 inches seems about right
