23 Thieves in crime-ridden Southern California are now stealing fire hydrants, leaving neighborhoods at risk of burning to the ground during an emergency. They are selling them for scrap metal. I'm thinking the thieves would have to know where the valves are at plus have a map of which valve shuts off which hydrant.
Supplied by the water manager.
Then that would mean the thieves would need some inside help to get access to a full blown water infrastructure schematic that shows the location of the valves, pipes, and hydrants.
Of course. Exactly what I have been saying.
This reminds me of the DieHard movie where Bruce Willis discovers that the janitor had all the maps covering the airport's underground passageways. 😁
