Saudi Arabia was run by a faction called the Wahabbists under King Salman. As I recall from /pol/ and The_Donald before it split off into Q and non-Q clubs, the reason Trump was greeted with the sword dance on his visit to Saudi Arabia was because he had saved Prince Salman from an assassination attempt that may have been conducted by King Salman and Prince Alwaleed using the resources of Israel. The Saudis and Israel have been tight for a long time, but after saving Prince Salman there were some strange goings on over in SA apparently involving Alwaleed being imprisoned in a hotel room. The PMC Blackwater might have been involved (whatever their name was at the time) and if I remember correctly Prince Salman is now the de facto head of power there.

So in a nutshell Trump helped the non-Wahabbists take over Saudi Arabia from the Wahabbists, which might have involved getting Saudi Arabia untangled from Israeli tentacles.
