Lithium in brine is somewhat limited. Only about 1200p or 0.12% will dissolve. But when you frac you are drilling through lithium bearing clay, which can be substantially higher. 12,000ppm isn’t out of range for some
But battery tech is advancing phenomenally. More developments in the last 20years than since the discovery of electricity. Lithium is a great mobile metal ion; but its cost has dropped from $65k/mton to $16k/mton. And new technology means less Lithium and more durable, cheaper and faster charging tech probably less than 10 years from now.
Sodium looks like a great solution, Nickel and copper aren’t going away
