It allows you to buy 100 share in the future at the strike price of the call,or take the cash difference if you are beyond the strike price. It gives you a lot of leverage on your money,but it comes with higher risk. All calls expire at a set time,the shorter calls cost less money, but they lose value very fast as the expiration date comes closer.
