Supreme Court strikes down Trump-era federal ban on bump stocks

The ruling, issued on June 14, found that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives exceeded its authority by saying a bump stock attachment on a rifle reclassified the weapon as a machine gun.

President Trump did sign the bill that banned them. Regardless, he is only human, and is subject to making mistakes. he obviously views that as one of his.
