On father's day, at our picnic, we had a conversation with our grandson and his girlfriend. Both of them are in their junior year of college going after teaching degrees. They paint a really bad picture of dumbed down kids. My grandson's girlfriend has been subbing at a local school. She tells us the kids in junior high don't know how to spell, punctuate or even end a sentence. She shows them where the commas and the periods need to go. We are in trouble.
