I suppose that depends at least in part on who jumps in the fray and on which side of the conflict. I'm guessing that if the IDF keeps their offensive limited to the area Hezbollah is operating out of in the southern/border region they can squash them without losing more international support. Israel doesn't have to sit there and tolerate it's enemies lobbing missiles into its northern regions.
If, however, the IDF starts indiscriminately carpet bombing the rest of Lebanon as it has in Palestine they'll garner further worldwide condemnation and probably start facing more and broader opposition. One has to wonder how the US military under Trump, from halfway across the globe, can practically pinpoint target Solemani, the leader of a terrorist organization, and eliminate him in a single strike while Israel, literally bordering the occupied territory, feels the need to bomb the shit out of Palestine. They've reduced massive swaths of it to rubble, killing tens of thousands of innocent men, women and children and still Hamas is operating - despite the so-called superior (military) intelligence the israelis have in the region.
We're not going to pretend we don't know that Israel ignored warnings of an impending attack prior to October 7th nor that Bibi had the troops stand down for several hours which basically gave Hamas the green light to proceed. I could go on, but anyone who's honest with themselves will consider both the justified and unjust actions from both sides of the conflict when analyzing the situation.
Hamas conducted a heinous massacre (and no one should condone their actions) and Israel is conducting a cruel genocide. It remains to be seen what the IDF will do in Lebanon. The US military recently increased it's numbers in Jordan and there are now about 40,000 US troops in/across the Middle East. Since the puppet masters who control the Potatus appear to favor Iran it's unclear how our troops will be participating should this escalation spiral out of control. So now we wait and watch to see what Israel will do next. My humble opinion.
Scott Ritter thinks Israel is going to have their ass handed to them.
