Most Americans remember Gaddafi for the Lockerbie crash, which may or may not have been terrorist out of Libya. With what I know today I have my doubts.

Gaddafi's greatest crime and the one he died for in my opinion was his opposition to the Petro Dollar. From what I have read Gaddafi wanted oil sold using a gold based currency / system.
